It’s time to share work and ignore the comments
It can be hard to tell people about your work; what if they don’t like it? What if they ignore you? What if, what if, what if? While this does get a bit easier with practice, it is always hard to put work that is meaningful to you out into the world to be judged. It is also wonderful to get to share your work with others. We will explore some mindset shifts to make sharing your work easier and specific tactics for getting your work into the world if your goal is to share/sell your work. You may be doing this for more of a personal project, which is always fine. But if you want others to discover your book, I want to help you get started.
You’re afraid that people won’t like your work, and that’s holding you back from sharing. I’m going to give you two tips below that will help, but the truth is, you’re human, and you just spent a lot of time creating a book to share a story, idea, or message that you care about, which means, if people say they don’t like it, it’s going to hurt. There will also be people who tell you they like your work and that it made an impact and was meaningful to them. Do your best to focus on the kind words and determine what criticism can help you improve and what needs to be left behind.
PS: I REALLY WANT TO SEE YOUR WORK
